The serious fraud office (SFO) is investigating solar installer, Solar Energy Savings Limited.

Six arrests have been made and a number of search warrants executed at properties in Cheshire, Merseyside and Scotland as part of the ongoing investigation.

The SFO has asked for any witnesses with information to come forward. The office is particularly keen to hear from those in the north of England and Scotland.

Solar Energy Savings Limited was wound-up by the High Court in Manchester back in 2012, following an investigation by Company Investigations of The Insolvency Service.

The investigation found that the Manchester-based solar company engaged in serious mis-selling tactics. During the case Solar Energy Savings Limited (Reg no. 07049599) did not deny the charges brought against it. Commenting on the case, Scott Crighton, investigation supervisor said: “Solar Energy Savings Ltd persistently and deliberately flouted both statutory regulations and scheme in order to induce members of the public into signing a contract.”
