Steel and industrial supplier Thomas Graham has installed solar on its new warehouse at Kingmoor Park in Carlisle.
Renewable energy installer, Sundog Energy installed the 884 module strong solar array in less than four weeks. The system is estimated to generate around 173,000kWh of electricity per year.
Sundog estimates that the solar installation will offset the running costs of the warehouse and reduce the company’s emissions by as much as 90 tonnes a year.
Phil Barnes, operations director for Thomas Graham’s, said: “Following the decision that solar PV was the right way forward for Thomas Graham’s and that Sundog Energy were the right partner for us, the project moved forward without any problems or delays. All work was completed to specification and within budget, the team involved were a pleasure to work with and for the size of installation there was very little disruption; we are now benefitting from the operational savings and looking forward to the feed-in tariff payments.”
