The introduction of auction-based contracts for difference (CfDs) in the UK has caused huge amounts of uncertainty in the solar industry. With Japan considering introducing its own version of CfDs and the EU stating a preference for the support mechanism, Andy Colthorpe asks if CfDs could be the solar support mechanism of the future.
