Manufacturer and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, Tata Power has completed a 3MW solar power plant in just 45 days.
The plant was built for sugar and fertiliser producer, Andhra Sugars. The 3MW solar power plant has been constructed at its chemicals and fertilzers division in Kovvur, Andhra Pradesh.

The project was built and completed in 45 days, and has now been commissioned successfully. The solar power plant is spread across 15 acres and used 12,000 polycrystalline modules, located in West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh.
The 3MW plant was built to help Andhra Sugars meet its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO). The RPO stipulates that Andhra Sugars should meet 5% of its energy demands with renewable energy, however the 3MW plant will deliver 15%. The company also has its own wind farms.
