Foresight Solar Fund has announced the acquisition of a 37MW solar farm located in Bournemouth.

The solar farm is expected to be connected later this year before any of the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s proposed changes to solar farm subsidies can come into force.

The project in Bournemouth represents the solar fund’s ninth large-scale solar project – three of which are claimed to be amongst the largest in the UK. In total the solar fund now manages an operational portfolio of 100MW with another 85MW agreed in the pipeline.

The acquisition follows the company’s announcement earlier this week of a debt acquisition facility worth £100 million in order to fund purchases of further solar farm assets.
