Major PV mounting systems specialist, Powerway Renewable Energy has recently undertaken extensive wind tunnel testing of its PV mounting systems in an effort to be able to reduce ballast and costs where possible.

“Mounting system design is highly important for PV systems,” said Benson Wu, Powerway’s CEO. “Based on data from extensive wind tunnel testing, mounting structures can be designed to be much more reliable by precisely measuring pressure and load on the mounting system under different conditions. In addition, the testing makes the systems less costly, because the data shows how to minimize the necessary ballast weight according to each situation.
