German solar manufacturer, Hanwha SolarOne, has agreed to supply 20.5MW of PV modules to German solar developer ib vogt for a solar farm in Hampshire.

The 20.5MW Newlands Solar Farm in Fareham represents the solar developer’s largest project in the UK.

Commenting on the deal, Maengyoon Kim, managing director of Hanwha SolarOne said: “We are very pleased to work with ib vogt once again, as we continue to expand our presence in the United Kingdom – one of our key markets in Europe.”

Ib vogt received the first shipment of Hanwha SolarOne HSL-60 modules in December 2013, with the rest of the consignment due to be delivered early in the first quarter of 2014.

The developer expects the 20.5MW solar farm to be connected to the grid before 31 March 2014 in order to take advantage of the higher rate of Renewable Obligation support before it is cut in April 2014.

The shipment of modules bolsters the two companies’ relationship having previously worked together on four UK solar farms representing 26MW of capacity.
