Enphase Energy announces strong Q2 results, sells 598,000 PV micro-inverters in the quarter

Enphase Energy, Inc. (Petaluma, Calif., U.S.) on August 5th, 2014 announced solid financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014. The company shipped 598,000 solar photovoltaic (PV) micro-inverters in the quarter (132 MW), up 54 percent year-over-year Enphase Energy reported total revenue for the second quarter of 2014 of USD 82.0 million, an increase of 41 percent compared to the second quarter of 2013, and an increase of 42 percent compared to the first quarter of 2014. Suntech announces personnel changes as acting CFO departs

First Solar announces net sales decrease by USD 406 million in Q2; New world record for CdTe solar cell efficiency at 21.0%

First Solar Inc. (Tempe, Arizona, U.S.) on August 5th, 2014 announced financial results for the second quarter of 2014. Net sales were USD 544 million in the quarter, a decrease of USD 406 million from the first quarter of 2014. First Solar also announced a new record solar cell efficiency of 21.0%, which improves upon the prior record of 20.4% announced earlier this year. This new record represents a milestone as CdTe cell efficiency now exceeds the world records for both multi-crystalline silicon and CIGS thin film technologies. Read more

New Talesun Smart Module available on the European PV Market

(Lahore, Pakistan), a subsidiary joint venture company of the Swiss based meeco Group, and two Pakistani business professionals, concluded a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a solar photovoltaic (PV) installation of 500 kwp that will produce annually up to 825.000 kwh of solar power. Phoenix Solar AG sells European O&M PV business to SMA, reduces forecast for 2014

Phoenix Solar AG (Sulzemoos, Germany) has sold its solar photovoltaic (PV) operation and maintenance activities (O&M business) in Europe to SMA Solar Technology AG (Niestetal, Germany) by way of a contract dated 6 August 2014 (asset deal). The parties agreed to keep the contractual content confidential. The proceeds from the sale are to be used to repay debt and to strengthen the Phoenix Solar's core operations. The O&M activities of the company's subsidiaries, particularly in the USA and Asia where O&M is run independently, are not the object of the sales contract and are not affected by the disposal.
