GlobalData: Investment in UK distributed power generation, PV to significantly drop by 2019

nvestment into the UK’s distributed power generation market, which comprises wind, solar photovoltaics (PV) and combined heat and power installed capacity, will witness a significant decline from almost USD 2.5 billion in 2013 to USD 939 million by 2019, says research and consulting firm GlobalData (London, UK). The company’s latest report states that investment, which will fluctuate annually between 2013 and 2015, will begin declining from 2016 until the end of the forecast period, as a result of various anticipated policy amendments. SunEdison closes USD 160 million fund for 40 U.S. PV projects with Barclays and Citi

The lease pass-through fund represents a unique structure that will provide the tax equity for 40 U.S. projects. The company shipped solar photovoltaic (PV) modules totaling 943.3 MW during Q2, 2014, compared to 558.0 MW in the first quarter of 2014, an increase of 69.1%. Trina Solar reports an increase of net revenues by 16.8% from the first quarter of 2014 up to USD 519.4 million. Gross profit was USD 80.2 million, a decrease of 12.3% from the first quarter of 2014. Gross margin was 15.4%, compared to 20.6% in the first quarter of 2014. Read more
