JA Solar's RIECIUM PV module passes 500-hour PID test conducted by TUV SUD

(Shanghai, China) on August 18th, 2014 announced that its polycrystalline “RIECIUM” solar photovoltaic (PV) module passed the 500-hour Potential Induced Degradation ("PID") test conducted by TUV SUD, a world leader in testing and certification services. The tests were conducted under extreme conditions of 85 degrees Celsius, 85% relative humidity and 1,000 volts of system voltage bias, with results showing less than 2% power degradation, JA Solar notes. EnergyTrend: Price quotes to drop in Q3, 2014 due to weak momentum in PV market

After the US announced its preliminary determination on the CVD and AD duty, momentum in the solar photovoltaic (PV) market has turned weak rapidly, TrendForce's (Taipei, Taiwan) EnergyTrend division reports. PV Module and solar cell manufacturers were the first to be challenged by decreased demand and increased inventory. In order to reduce operating pressure, PV cell and module makers hope to stimulate the market through price adjustment, EnergyTrend notes. Thus, price quotes declined significantly, which led to upstream wafer and polysilicon price adjustment as well. Read more
