Enphase Energy Inc. (Petaluma, Calif., US), a manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) microinverters, on August 13th, 2014 announced it has partnered with YHI (New Zealand) Ltd. to distribute its microinverter-based solar photovoltaic (PV) system to the New Zealand solar installer community. YHI will ship Enphase’s products from six warehouses throughout New Zealand. On August 14, 2014 Enphase Energy, Inc. also announced the pricing of the previously announced underwritten public offering of 3,216,540 shares of its common stock at USAD 10.50 per share. Phoenix Solar AG (Sulzemoos, Germany), an international photovoltaic system integrator that is listed on the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, has presented its report on the first half of the 2014 financial year on August 14th, 2014. Phoenix Solar revenues dropped to EUR 12.1 million (H1/2013: 68.4 million). While the revenue for the first quarter still had been in line with the company’s expectations, the figure for the second quarter and the first half year as a whole is below planning. Facing rising energy costs and increased power demand from their steel manufacturing and fabrication plants, Apel Steel Corporation in Cullman, Alabama contracted ACE, LLC SOLAR to move them off-grid with a solar photovoltaic (PV) generating system. The 340kW system was designed and developed to generate 470,213 kWh of AC electrical power annually to meet 98% of the energy requirements for the heavy machinery and plant operations and is expected to save Apel Steel more than USD 3,000,000 on its electric bills over the 30-year life expectancy of the system, Solar FlexRack a division of Northern States Metals, reports.
