Solar photovoltaics silver consumption to increase as prices rise

U.S. solar photovoltaic (PV) inverter manufacturer Solectria Renewables, LLC (Lawrence, Mass.) and Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Kitakyushu, Japan) on July 17th, 2014 announced that the companies have reached a definitive agreement whereby Yaskawa Electric will acquire Solectria Renewables through its U.S. subsidiary, Yaskawa America Inc. Solar-powered Gondola Saving Clean Mountain Air in Colorado

The gondola, traveling from the town of Telluride to the town of Mountain Village, is the first and only free public transportation of its kind in the United States. Solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturers are still conservative about market demand even though the result of the US-China anti-dumping preliminary verdict will be announced soon, TrendForce's (Taipei, Taiwan) EnergyTrend division reports. These circumstances have led to weak demand in July, and slow stock clearance have led to high inventory levels within the overall supply chain. Recent market prices have also substantially declined and certain quotations even decreased below manufacturers’ breakeven point, which in turn led to lowest OEM prices in recent times, according to EnergyTrend. The PV modules will be installed at the Wuhan Dongxihu Bonded Logistics Center, a large-scale distribution and import-export facility located in the city's bonded logistics zone.
