Abengoa SA (Seville, Spain) has released results for 2013, reporting a 17% increase in revenues to EUR 7.36 billion (USD 10.1 billion) and a 19% EBITDA margin. The company saw substantial growth across both of its divisions involved in concentrating solar power (CSP) technology. This marks another year of solid growth for Abengoa. During the year the company reached a number of milestones, including commissioning Shams 1, the largest CSP plant in the Middle East, the 280 MW Solana CSP plant in the United States, beginning work on two CSP plants in Africa and winning a tender for Latin America's first CSP project. India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released new data on installed solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in the nation, with a breakdown by both state and supporting government agency. The data shows that the state of Gujarat and its solar program is responsible for the largest amount of any entity at 860 MW or 39% of the nation's installed PV capacity. While Gujarat's is by far the most successful, overall state programs are responsible for 1.17 GW, or over half of installed capacity. (St. Peters, Missouri, U.S.) filed to create a similar structure, Photon Energy NV (Amsterdam) announced the launch of a pan-European “yieldco” structure to provide investment protection and asset management for solar photovoltaic (PV) assets. Photon says that the key element of European Solar Holdings (ESH) will be a protection platform for all investors in EU solar assets against future retroactive measures. The company says that once the target portfolio size of 250 MW is reached ESH will seek an IPO. The company aims for 1 GW of PV assets by 2015.
