SunEdison announces development of PV projects totaling 350 MW in Chile without subsidies or incentives

SunEdison, Inc. (Belmont., Calif.) on December 15th, 2014 announced that the National Energy Commission in Chile has awarded the company a contract to supply 570 gigawatt hours (GWh) of solar power annually. To meet the demand, SunEdison will be investing more than USD 700 million to develop 350 megawatts (MW) of utility scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants throughout the country. The plants will be added to the call right list of subsidiary TerraForm Power. Read more

(Belmont, CA, US) on December 15th, 2014 announced the closing of an approximately USD 146 million non-recourse debt financing arrangement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). The debt proceeds will be used to fund construction of three solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants totaling 81.7 megawatts (MW) in the Republic of Honduras. Read more

The Infrastructure Equity team of Allianz Global Investors has acquired the French solar photovoltaic (PV) project “La Coste“ on behalf of the Allianz Renewable Energy Fund, S.A. SICAV-SIF (AREF). This is one result of the new comprehensive European PV InstallerMonitor 2014/2015 by market research and consulting firm EuPD Research (Bonn, Germany).
