SunPower announces second Chinese joint venture: At least three GW of PV plants to be developed in the PRC

SunPower Corp. (San Jose, California, US) on October 31st, 2014 announced its definitive agreement with Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (TZS), Sichuan Development Holding Co., Ltd., Leshan Electric Power Co., Ltd., and Tianjin Tsinlien Investment Holding Co., Ltd. to form a joint venture with plans to develop and own at least three gigawatt (GW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants in the People's Republic of China (PRC). The PV plants, to be located in the Sichuan Province, are expected to be built primarily with high-efficiency, low-concentration photovoltaic (LCPV) technology. United Photovoltaics Group Limited (Hong Kong, China), a solar power plant investor and operator in China, on October 31st, 2014 announced that the Company will jointly acquire, with Shenzhen China Merchants Yinke Investment Management Limited the entire equity interest of Changzhou Guangyu New Energy Company Limited from China Merchants Zhangzhou Development Zone Trenda Solar Limited. The target company, Changzhou Guangyu New Energy, owns four on-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants with a total installed capacity of approximately 80 MW in Hami City and Turpan City of Xinjiang Province, China (PRC). Sale of German PV project developer S.A.G. Solarstrom to the Shunfeng Group concluded; application for delisting

On October 31st, 2014 S.A.G. Solarstrom AG i.I. (Freiburg, Germany) concluded the sale of the operative business and the related assets agreed on August 30th, 2014 to the SF Clean Energy Group (SV-PV, Changzhou, China). The remaining stock market listed company will receive the sales price of EUR 65 million in the near future.
