(Yixing, China) to acquire 400 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in Gansu Province, China. The company will pay a refundable deposit of USD 1.3 million within five days to GD Solar parent company Guodian Technology & Environmental Group Corp. Ltd. (Beijing) to secure the plants. Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA, Washington D.C.) President and CEO Rhone Resch has issued a statement declaring the trade petitions filed by SolarWorld Industries Americas Inc. (Hillsboro, Oregon, U.S.) an “immediate threat” to the U.S. solar photovoltaic (PV) industry. Resch notes that the previous trade investigations led to retaliatory actions by China, and claims that this case will additionally raise the cost of PV. As he did during the previous trade case, Resch has issued a settlement proposal and is calling upon opposing parties to enter into negotiations. (CWP, Hong Kong) has entered into a share purchase and wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) development cooperation agreement with a subsidiary of state-owned power company China Huadian Corp. (Jinan, China). Under the agreement, Huadian Fuxin Energy Corp. Ltd. (Fuzhou, China) will buy 880 million new CWP shares for USD 48.8 million. Upon completion of this purchase, Huadian Fuxin will have the option to selectively acquire or participate in the 3.5 GW of wind projects that CWP has secured approvals for.
