E-CL (Santiago, Chile) and Quiborax SA (Santiago, Chile) have commissioned a 2 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Northern Chile, which will supply power to a Quiborax chemical plant. The El Aguila (Eagle) 1 PV plant is the first in the region of Arica and Parinacota, in the far north of Chile, and one of the largest in the nation.
