Trade war: EC publishes anti-dumping duty rates by company

The European Commission (EC) has published its provisional anti-dumping regulation on imports of Chinese solar photovoltaic (PV) products in the EU's Official Journal. This includes specific duty rates between 37.3% and 67.9% for seven named companies, to take effect on August 6th, 2013. Read more

Mitsubishi JV completes first agricultural rooftop PV plant of 30 MW planned in Japan

JAMC Solar, a joint venture of Japans National Federation of Agricultural Co-operative Associations (JA ZEN-NOH) and Mitsubishi Corporation (Tokyo, Japan) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of solar PV developments at ZEN-NOH Iwate's facility on June 5th in Hanamaki, Iwate, Japan. This is the first solar photovoltaic (PV) project to be implemented by JAMC Solar. The system will be installed on the rooftops of ZEN-NOH Iwate's rice warehouses, with plans to start selling electricity to Tohoku Electric Power Company from this September. Read more

Emergency regulation on the way to address Massachusetts SREC cap

One June 3rd, 2013, the Department of Energy Resources (DOER) in the U.S. state of Massachusetts announced that it will file an “emergency regulation” to address the issue of the state meeting its solar renewable energy credit (SREC) cap “sometime this month”. Details on the emergency regulation will be provided at a stakeholder meeting on June 7th, 2013, at the state capitol. On May 29th, 2013, DOER had announced that the state had exceeded its 400 MW SREC program cap, and would accept applications under new regulations beginning on June 7th. Read more

Neo Solar Power completes merger with DelSolar

On May 31st, 2013, Neo Solar Power Corporation (Hsinchu, Taiwan) completed its merger with DelSolar Company Ltd. (Chunan Chen, Taiwan). France commissions only 88 MW of solar PV in Q1 2013

The nation of France commissioned 88 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in 7,100 installations in the first quarter of 2013, a 76% decline from the year prior and the lowest level for a first quarter since 2009. The French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy reports that this brings the nation to 291,000 PV plants totaling 4.11 GW of capacity.
