Chinese producer ReneSola to supply modules for 1.8 MW PV project in New Mexico

On April 15th, 2013, ReneSola Ltd. (Beijing, China) announced that it has received a contract from S&C Electric Co. (Chicago, Illinois, U.S.) to supply solar photovoltaic (PV) modules for a 1.8 megawatt (MW) solar project in Roswell, New Mexico. Under the agreement, ReneSola will provide 7,200 of its 250-watt polycrystalline solar PV modules in 2013. Read more

Walmart to add 1,000 PV systems by 2020

Walmart (Bentonville, Arkansas, U.S.) has set a target to add 1,000 solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at its facilities by 2020, an increase over the 200 PV systems that it currently has in operation or in development globally. This measure will be part of a target to produce or procure 7 TWh of renewable energy annually by December 31st, 2020, a six-fold increase over 2010 levels. This in turn will be the next step towards its long-term goal to reach 100% renewable energy. Read more

Solar Systems commissions 500 kW of CPV in Australia

(Victoria, Australia) has commissioned the first 500 kW of a a 1.5 MW concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) plant in the Australian state of Victoria, as the largest CPV plant in the nation to date. The plant in Mildura, Victoria uses Solar Systems' “Dense Array” CPV technology, and holds a power purchase agreement with Diamond Energy (Camberwell, Australia). Clenergy, CGN to build 300 MW of PV plants in Yunnan Province, China
