Solis Partners builds 1.8 MW PV plant in New Jersey

On March 12th, 2013, Solis Partners (Manasquan, New Jersey, US) announced that it recently completed a 1.82 megawatt (MW) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at Freeze's manufacturing and distribution facility in Dayton, New Jersey. The PV system, installed on the roof of the 320,000-square-foot facility, consists of 6,994 solar panels, and will generate more than 2.1 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of solar power in the first year, covering about 80% of Freeze's annual electricity needs. US solar PV market grows 76% annually to 3.31 GW

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA, Washington DC, US) and GTM Research (Boston, Massachusetts US) have released their report on the US solar market in 2012, finding a 76% annual growth in solar photovoltaic (PV) installations to 3.31 GW. GTM and SEIA report that while California remained the largest state PV market at 1.03 GW, Arizona came in a close second with 710 MW, and seven states installed more than 100 MW. The report also shows an increasing growth of utility-scale PV, which represented over half the capacity installed in 2012 at 1.78 GW. Read more

Clean Edge: Solar PV industry revenues fall 19% in 2012
