Welspun built the plant in three phases, commissioning the first 15 MW phase of the plant earlier in 2013. The project was awarded through Phase 1, Batch 2 of the nation's National Solar Mission. SolarWorld postpones release of 2012 results

METI committee proposes 10% decrease in Japan's feed-in tariff rates for solar PV

A committee of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has proposed a 9.5-10% decrease in feed-in tariff levels in Japan during fiscal year 2013, which starts on April 1st, 2013. The Procurement Committee for Solar Energy calls for a reduction to from JPY 42 per kWh to JPY 38 (USD 0.396) per kWh for systems smaller than 10 kW. Larger systems would receive JPY 36 to 37.8 (USD 0.375 to 0.394) per kWh, depending on whether or not tax is included. Read more

Tamil Nadu issues order implementing net metering, clarifying solar policy

The Electricity Regulatory Commission in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu (TNERC) has issued an order to implement net metering for domestic rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) plants, as well as clarifying obligated entities under the solar purchase obligation (SPO). Additionally, the order requires public utility TANGEDCO to develop detailed procedures and standards for connectivity of PV plants, as well as accreditation of issuance and trading of renewable energy certificates (RECs).
