First Wind begins construction on PV projects totalling 17 MW in Massachusetts

First Wind (Boston, MA, USA) on September 30th, 2013, announced that it has begun construction on 17 megawatts (AC) of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in the Massachusetts communities of Warren and Millbury. This is First Wind’s initial set of renewable energy projects in its home state and its first solar PV development. The company breaks ground after it recently secured financing and finalized a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with the University of Massachusetts (UMass), as well as net metering agreements with the towns of Millbury and Orange. PV and silicon production technology: Yingli Green Energy hosts its 2nd annual Innovation Expo

Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Ltd. (Baoding, China), the world's largest vertically integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturer, which markets its products under the brand “Yingli Solar”, on September 30th, 2013, announced to host its second annual Technology Innovation Exposition at its Baoding Headquarters through the end of October 2013. At the Expo Yingli's technical team is unveiling upgrades to its multi-crystalline silicon ingot production. By upgrading the casting furnaces, the company has increased the silicon ingot's quality, the capacity per furnace, and the overall manufacturing line's energy efficiency. Read more
