The company also notes that the system is modular and can be combined with different laser-source technologies. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a new set of proposed carbon pollution standards for new power plants, slightly increasing CO2 emissions limits for smaller natural gas-fired plants and coal-fired plants to 499 kg per megawatt-hour (MWh).
