PV producer SunPower launches 25-year combined power and product warranty

On September 10th, 2012, SunPower Corp. (San Jose, California, U.S.) announced that it has introduced a new combined warranty for its solar photovoltaic (PV) modules that covers both power output and product warranty for 25 years. The company is also shifting to a linear power warranty that ensured the lowest power degradation over the life of the PV system. Read more

SunPower to supply 6 MW of C7 Trackers to TEP

SunPower Corporation (San Jose, California, U.S.) will supply 6 MW of its C7 Tracker technology to Tuscon Electric Power (TEP), for a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant which will also include SunPower's 2 MW T5 Solar Roof Tile technology. The company's C7 Tracker is a low-concentrating photovoltaic (LCPV) technology that concentrates sunlight seven times onto SunPower Maxeon PV cells, and also includes tracking technology. Installation is scheduled for January 2013, and SunPower plans to commission the plant by December 2013. Read more

Bisol invests EUR 1.5 million in factory automation

Bisol Group doo (Prebold, Slovakia) has announced that it is investing EUR 1.5 million (USD 1.9 million) in automating its solar photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility, and expects to achieve a 10% increase in production capacity. Bisol expects to complete three phases of upgrades, which it began in the summer of 2012, by the end of the year. The company notes that this project is not financed by any European Union or other government subsidies. Read more

SunEdison completes expansion of solar project finance fund to USD 150 million
