Solectria Renewables powers 10 MW of rooftop PV installations for Extra Space Storage

The U.S. photovoltaic (PV) inverter manufacturer Solectria Renewables LLC (Lawrence, Massachusetts, U.S.) on December 12th, 2012 announced that it was selected to deliver PVI 60/82/95KW commercial inverters to 1st Light Energy for solar rooftop installations on Extra Space Storage facilities across the United States. Extra Space Storage chose 1st Light Energy as the installer and integrator to assist in making their solar mission a reality. A critical part of Extra Space Storage's mission statement is to reduce their carbon footprint by utilizing solar to power their facilities. On December 11th, 2012, General Motors (GM) announced that it will build a 3 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) system at its assembly plant in Changwon, South Korea. Under an agreement, KC Cottrell will install the PV array on a 688,000 square-foot rooftop, about the size of 11 American football fields. Pike Research: Distributed renewables market to reach USD 86 billion by 2017

On December 12th, 2012, Pike Research (Boulder, Colorado, U.S.) has released a report stating that renewable distributed energy generation (RDEG) market will grow from less than USD 69 billion in market value in 2012 to nearly USD 86 billion in 2017.
