Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Ltd. (Baoding, China) has released results for the third quarter of 2012, reporting a 47% year-over-year decrease in revenues to USD 356 million, a -42% operating margin, and a net loss of USD 153 million. The company reported increased sales to China, but an overall 17% sequential decrease in solar photovoltaic (PV) module shipments due to decreased demand in Germany. Also, on November 27th, 2012 Yingli announced that it will supply 200 MW-DC of PV modules to LS Power (New York, New York, U.S.) for its Centinela Solar Energy Facility in Southern California. The U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley, California, U.S.) has released the latest report in its Tracking the Sun series, finding that solar photovoltaic (PV) installed costs continue to fall in the United States. "Tracking the Sun V: An historical summary of the installed price of photovoltaics in the United States from 1998 to 2011" finds that costs for US PV systems in 2011 fell to between USD 4.9 and 6.1 per watt.
