Canadian Solar supplies PV modules for a 37 kW array on the roof of a catholic church in Poland

On November 21st, 2012, Canadian Solar Inc. (Ontario, Canada) announced that it has supplied solar modules for a 37 kilowatt (kW) solar photovoltaic (PV) array in Poland. The PV system, on the roof of a catholic church in Skoczow-Pogorze in Upper Silesia, features Canadian Solar's polycrystalline CS6P-P modules. The project is developed by Polish project developer, RenSan Energy. Read more

PV Evolution Labs launches soiling measurement system for PV modules

On November 20th, 2012, PV Evolution Labs (PVEL, Berkeley, California, U.S.) announced that it has introduced a new soiling station program for measurement of power and energy loss due to module soiling in the field. Soiling is the accumulation of dirt on solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, which can reduce annual energy output of a plant by up to 10% depending on the site location. Rather than guess about the level of soiling occurring, customers can now be certain about the performance of an existing site, or the expected performance at a proposed site, PVEL emphasizes. Australian government begins new trials for smart energy; announces funding for solar career paths

The Australian Government announced a series of innovative trials aimed at giving consumers more control over their energy use are set to begin in Newcastle and the Upper Hunter region, Australia. The trial will be run by EnergyAustralia in a partnership with Ausgrid. The trials are part of the Australian Government's AUD 100 million (USD 104.1 million) Smart Grid, Smart City project.
