Boulder Valley School District commissions 1.4 MW of PV

Boulder Valley School District (BVSD, Colorado, U.S.) and SolarCity (San Mateo, California, U.S.) announced the installation of 1.4 megawatts (MW) of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation capacity on 14 schools across the district. The PV arrays are including more than 5,000 solar panels and will deliver environmental benefits to the region, eliminating over 110 million pounds of annual carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Epuron acquires largest solar PV tracking power plant in Australia

On October 3rd, 2012, SunPower Corp. (San Jose, California, U.S.) announced that Epuron (North Sydney, Australia) has acquired the 1-megawatt (MW) Uterne solar power plant located in Alice Springs, Australia. The project was developed by SunPower with the support of Power and Water Corp. Commonwealth Bank, a provider of integrated financial services in Australia, which has provided project financing. U.S. Presidential debate mentions green jobs, subsidies

Green jobs and fossil fuel subsidies were mentioned in the first debate between U.S. President Barack Obama (D) and Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney (R), with President Obama suggesting cutting fossil fuel subsidies and Romney making inaccurate allegations about the "green energy" economy. Energy was not a formal subject of the debate, although energy policy surfaced questions about the economy and the role of government. Neither candidate mentioned Global Warming or Climate Change.
