Suntech Power Holdings Company Ltd. (Wuxi, China) and Trina Solar Ltd. (Changzhou, China) have released statements in response to the U.S. Department of Commerce's (DOC) final ruling on tariff levels for Chinese PV exports. Suntech described the process as "unfortunate", criticizing aspects of the investigation, and noted that it will be able to supply its customers with PV products that are not subject to tariffs. Motech unveils UL certified 1,000 volt PV modules

Motech Americas LLC (Newark, Delaware, U.S.) has launched several lines of 1,000 volt solar photovoltaic (PV) modules certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL, Northbrook, Illinois, U.S.) for North American markets. The UL 1,000 volt feature has been integrated into Motech's multicrystalline IM Plus Series modules with power ratings up to 260 watts and 310 watts, as well as the monocrystalline XS Plus series with power ratings up to 265 and 320 watts. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to finance MW PV plant in Ukraine

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has arranged a financing package of EUR 5.7 million (USD 7.4 million) to support the building of a MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Ukraine. Rengy Development Ltd. (Kiev, Ukraine) will develop the plant in the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine for Green Agro Service LLC. ERBD will provide funding through an eight-year, EUR 4.1 million (USD 5.3 million) loan, and a 15-year, EUR 1.6 million (USD 2.1 million) loan from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF), as the first PV project that EBRD has supported in the region. Commerce Slams Chinese Cell & Modules with Final Duties

The U.S. Commerce Department today returned a hawkish decision on its investigation into the dumping and subsidization of Chinese solar exports, levying associated import tariffs on several billion dollars worth of the imports, ranging from 18.32 percent to 249.96 percent of declared value. US Dept. of Commerce announces long-awaited AD and CVD rulings

The long and winding road to this final determination imposing anti-dumping and countervailing duties against Chinese manufacturers has finally been reached. The US Department of Commerce (DoC) has announced that Chinese producers/exporters have sold solar cells in the United States at dumping margins ranging from 18.32% to 249.96%.
