PV equipment provider Spire reports declining revenue, strong gross margin in 2Q 2011

On August 3rd, 2011, Spire Corporation (Bedford, Massachusetts, U.S.), a global solar company providing capital equipment to manufacture photovoltaic (PV) modules, turnkey manufacturing lines and solar PV systems, reported USD 14.7 million in revenue in its second quarter 2011 results, a 20% decrease from the previous quarter and a 34% reduction from the second quarter of 2010. The company also reported a net income of USD 0.7 million during the quarter, and a gross margin of USD 5.2 million or 37%, USD 1.5 million higher than the second quarter of 2010. SunPower signs 15-Megawatt solar panel and tracker technology supply agreement with Mahindra in India

SunPower Corp. (San Jose, Calif.) on August 4th, 2011 announced that Mahindra EPC Services Pvt Ltd. has ordered 15 megawatts of SunPower solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and SunPower T0 Tracker technology for delivery by the end of this year.
