Hanwha SolarOne misses quarterly guidance, but doubles revenues for year

Hanwha SolarOne released its unaudited financial results for both the fourth quarter 2010 and its full year 2010. While fourth quarter revenue was down 3.3% from 2010?s third quarter, revenue for the full year showed a total of US$1.14 billion (RMB7,527 million), representing over a 99% increase from 2009?s full year revenues that came in at US$574.7 million (RMB3,778.3 million). In its outlook for the 2011 full year, Hanwha anticipates its module shipments to reach between 1GW and 1.2GW with up to 25% of those shipments representing PV module processing services. Read more

Made in the USA: First Solar selects Mesa, AZ, as site for second domestic PV manufacturing facility

First Solar has selected the location of its second manufacturing center in the United States, and it?s a short drive from the company?s Tempe, AZ, headquarters. A 135-acre site in Mesa that once hosted a General Motors vehicle testing facility will see the creation of a cadmium-telluride thin-film PV module factory, a $300 million capital investment which will feature four production lines and be suitable for future expansion. Foresight pledges £50m investment in Our Generation solar program

Foresight has announced its intention to finance the completed solar photovoltaic roof installations developed by Our Generation – the energy services company set up in conjunction with Mark Group in 2009. Foresight, which has agreed on a £50M program spread over the next 12 months, will fund the investment from Foresight Solar VCT, which has already raised £20 million from individuals, and from the Foresight Solar EIS, its fourth dedicated solar fund which launched this month. St. Modwen 5MW solar park gets the green light

Newcastle-based heating and renewable energy provider Eaga has signed a £300 million equity and debt financing documentation for its ‘Solar Project,’ which involves the installation of solar panels on more than 30,000 UK homes.
