PV recycling: Kyocera joins PV CYCLE, signs new Environmental Agreement and aims for 85% recycling rate of solar module materials

The Japanese technology company Kyocera (Kyoto, Japan / Neuss, Germany), one of the leading manufacturers in the field of photovoltaics (PV), has signed on as a full member to the PV CYCLE?s new Environmental Agreement, the company reports in a press release. The third Environmental Agreement aims to strengthen the Europe-wide system for the take-back and recycling of PV modules with more stringent self-regulations. U.S. Solar Electric Power Association appoints Darren Deffner as director of policy

On November 2nd, 2011 the Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA, Washington D.C., U.S.) announced that it has appointed Darren Deffner to the newly created position of director of policy. In this position, Deffner will lead SEPA's efforts to monitor and analyze proposed and current federal and state policies, ensuring that the SEPA members understand potential impacts. Deffner will also analyze state solar policy trends and provide information on the impact of those trends on solar markets. The certification is a requirement for companies wanting to sell products in Brazil. The accreditation program aims to support Brazilian enterprises by improving the quality of goods and services. On November 1st, 2011, Dominion Virginia Power (Richmond, Virginia) announced that it plans to lease rooftops and grounds of commercial businesses and public facilities for solar photovoltaic (PV) plants. The PV arrays due to Dominion would generate enough electricity to power about 6,000 homes during peak daylight hours.
