Bill O'Reilly Says He Can't Get a Solar Quote. Anybody?
Friday, 11.18.2011 - 23:00 (Renewable Energy World)
This is really big news for solar affordablity--or at least it can be with your help: I admit I don’t watch “The Factor,” but former Renewable Energy World editor Stephen Lacey apparently does, and he just tipped me off that Bill O’Reilly wants a solar quote for his Manhasset, Long Island, home, but can't find an installer in the area. I’m not kidding. See for yourself: Now, as Stephen pointed out in his blog posts, Bill probably forgot to check Google, but let me just say that it doesn’t matter that there are lots of dots on Google’s Long Island map that appear to indicate that there are plenty of places where Bill can get Read moreSuniva modules power 1.2MW PV canopy system at Georgia bus facility

The last few weeks have been a media and political circus in the U.S. as a pair of high-profile Department of Energy loan guarantees wound up in bankruptcy court. In the first case, solar power innovator Solyndra filed two years after closing a $535 million loan for a factory that never quite made it into production. In the second case, flywheel storage innovator Beacon Power (BCONQ.PK) filed about a year after scoring a $43 million loan for a 20-MW frequency regulation plant that was commissioned in June. Both are black eyes for the Obama administration's green energy policies. Read moreGCL-Poly to install 1GW in Datong, China
