Princeton Power Systems opens new inverter, energy storage production facility

Princeton Power Systems (PPS) has opened its new Princeton, New Jersey facility, which will manufacture inverters and energy storage systems for the alternative energy divisions. In addition to housing PPS?s military-qualified variable speed drive product, the 10,000 square foot facility contains floors that are qualified for assembling 90? inverter cabinets.  The new facility boasts various labs, including an inverter test lab, a printed circuit board lab and a variable speed drive test and assembly lab. Another thin-film company enters the UK market

Inventux Technologies has received verification from British inspectors at BE Global that its micromorph thin-film solar modules have achieved Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) recognition. The certificate is necessary in order for solar modules to receive the feed-in tariff payments in the UK. Read more

Testing at SkyFuel?s SEGS II facility yields promising results

Upon completing one year of operation, SkyFuel?s SkyTrough parabolic trough concentrating solar collectors system has also conclude its first testing period conducted by engineering firm Sargent & Lundy. The Solar Energy Generating Station (SEGS) II in Daggett, California was visited by the engineering firm, who reviewed the test methodology, daily performance data, and instrumentation and engineering drawings for 24 data collection days. The firm concluded that ?the thermal output of SkyTrough solar collector assemblies (SCAs) can be expected to achieve the predicted levels.? Read more

Tenesol works with Sicaseli for completion of 6.9MW solar installation on over 200 farm structures

In 2009, Tenesol and Sicaseli, a 560 member association of farmers, began development on a ?34 million rooftop PV system that would be built over 188 farm buildings in southwest France. The 6.9MWp turnkey system has been completed in just 18 months and covers just under 13 acres of land using 31,000 Tenesol PV modules. The PV system is anticipated to produce 7.2MWh of electricity per year. Read more
