China Sunergy shows 61.4% year-over-year increase in shipments during third quarter

China Sunergy posted their financial statements for their third quarter and showed an impressive increase in revenues and gross profit. Revenue for 2010’s third quarter totaled US$125.8 million, which are 57.1% higher than 2009’s third quarter results and 7% higher than 2010’s second quarter. Revenue for solar cell sales during 2010’s third quarter were US$117.8 million; a 72% leap up from third quarter 2009. Read more

Etrion has released its interim consolidated financial statements and related management discussion and analysis for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2010 and 2009. Highlights for the third quarter include closing the acquisition of the 24MW first tranche of the 33MW Montalto solar park in Italy - subsequently closing the final 9MW tranche - recording US$7.0 million in revenues and completing a US$15 million private placement of shares to meet Toronto Stock Exchange listing requirements. On a conference call today, Rhone Resch of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), along with Ed Fenster, co-founder and CEO of SunRun, Mark Conroy, president and CEO of MegaWatt Solar, and Eric Hafter, senior vice president of Sharp Solar Energy Solutions Group called for a two-year extension of the Treasury Grant Program (TGP). The TGP allows investors in renewable energy project developments to take an upfront payment equal to 30% of the project's cost instead of filing for a tax credit for the same amount. Read more

Perpetual Energy Systems has finalized the 1.5MW solar project for the Jefferson Union High School District, south of San Francisco. The project included solar arrays being installed at four District high schools: Oceana High School, Terra Nova High School, Westmoor High School and Jefferson High School.
