German Federal Network Agency publishes new tariff rates

The German Federal Network Agency or Bundesnetzagentur has published the country's new tariffs for photovoltaic systems in the Federal Gazette. All PV systems due to begin operation in 2011 will face a 13% cut in subsidy compared with current tariffs. Installation operators will therefore receive between €0.21.11 and €0.28.74 cents for each kilowatt hour of solar electricity fed into the mains, depending on size and location of the installation. Scheuten Solar and Solar Umbria have signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the supply and installation of approximately 15,000 photovoltaic modules on four separate sites in Gualdo Tadino, Umbria, Italy. A full scope O&M contract was also signed for the project, which is to be developed by Neu Solar, which will feature as an investor and main shareholder, and EGBM which will act as shareholder and main subcontractor. The Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved a pre-feasibility study for the construction of the first phase of First Solar's 30MW thin-film solar power plant located in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. Solar Millennium has sold an additional 16% of stakes in the Ibersol power plant project to ExtremaSol Kraftwerks, an investment company belonging to the I.C.M. InvestmentBank Group, Berlin. Solar Millennium also sold profit participation rights in the Ibersol Kraftwerks investment company, which holds 17% in the Spanish Ibersol power plant project to the Ibersol Fonds.
