Order Focus: Neo Solar Power strengthens solar cell supply deal with Day4 Energy

Taiwan-based Neo Solar Power (NSP) is to strengthen its solar cell supply deal with Day4 Energy, based in Vancouver, Canada. Day4 began working with NSP in early 2010, however an official arrangement was not then established, while the new deal will se cells supplied by NSP to Day4 Energy through 2011. As reported recently, Q-Cells is building its first in-house module plant in Thalheim, Germany. The company has now updated PV-Tech with its ramp schedule and investments costs for the project. Northern States Metals Solar FlexRack has been chosen as the mounting hardware for two Canadian solar PV projects. The Elmsley Solar Project, consisting of two 12MW sites, and the St. Isidore Project, a 12MW solar PV project, are currently under development with the help of the Government of Ontario’s Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program (RESOP). Martifer Solar started construction in October on two new PV plants in Northern Italy, which combined will produce 3.1MW (DC) of power. The first plant located in the province of Cremona is a 1MW (DC) fixed structure constructed on around 6 acres of land; a result of an investment by a local farm that separated its businesses into renewable energies. Solarpack and Codelco are set to construct what they heralds as South America’s first industrial solar PV plant in Chile. The Calama Solar 3 project consists of a 1MW solar PV installation, which will be built across 15 acres of land with 4,080 silicon PV modules installed on single shaft trackers. CBD Energy, along with its wholly owned subsidiary ecoKinetics, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Tianwei Group for a solar equipment manufacturing business in Australia. According to the terms of the MOU, Tianwei will own 5% of the joint venture company, and will increase its ownership stake to 51%, once the Chinese and Australian governments approve the deal, exchanging its brand and technology to be used in the JV company.
