Natcore forms strategic alliances to help manage factory requests

Natcore Technology has formed three strategic alliances to help manage requests for solar cell manufacturing facilities. The company will join forces with Jacob White Construction, Spire Corporation, and Helium Resources to help incorporate its liquid-phase deposition technology into plants in New Mexico, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, and Brazil. Updated: At its Investor and Analyst Day, Suntech has announced a major manufacturing joint venture with Wuxi Industrial Development Group and Wuxi New District E&D Group to own and operate a 1.2GW solar cell production facility. Suntech also guided that 2011 shipments are expected to reach 2.2GW, up from over 1.5GW expected to be shipped in 2010. Revenue in 2010 is expected to reach between of US$2.78 billion to US$2.83 billion, representing growth of at least 64% over the previous year. Due to the use of integrated transformers in its ‘SmartGrid’ inverters, Solectria Renewables is claiming it has achieved 97.5% CEC efficiency, making it the first with integrated transformers to achieve efficiencies higher than 97%.
