Centrosolar and Pohlen complete ALDI rooftop project in Spain

Centrosolar, along with Pohlen, have completed the installation of a rooftop PV system for the international grocery chain ALDI in Masquefa, a Spanish town in the province of Barcelona. The project, measuring just over 351,455 square feet, was connected to the grid this past August with 6,595 modules and has a capacity to produce 1.422MWp of solar energy. Read more

AES Solar subsidiary completes ?103 million financing for 24MW solar PV portfolio

One of AES Solar?s subsidiaries has completed long-term non-recourse facilities financing for ?103 million, which will go towards the construction of a 24MW portfolio of solar PV projects in Italy. The ?Il Terzo? portfolio will see the construction of PV sites in Lazio, Puglia and Sicilia, Italy. Banks Dexia Crediop and Société Générale contributed to the facilities financing, covering around 85% of the estimated project costs with a final maturity date 18 years after construction is completed. GCL-Poly signs huge polysilicon, wafer supply deal with Solarfun

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings and Solarfun Power Holdings have mutually entered into a long-term wafer and polysilicon supply contract where GCL-Poly will provide Solarfun with 2,500MW of wafer and polysilicon products from January 2011 until December 2015.
