Project Focus: PSE&G starts work on 4.4MW solar project in Hamilton Township, NJ

Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) said it has begun the first phase of construction at the 4.4MW Yardville Solar Farm in Hamilton Township, NJ. The power plant is one of four ground-mounted solar farms that the utility is developing as part of its $515 million Solar 4 All program. Read more

Industry gathers to fight large-scale solar threat

PV Crystalox targets 800MW wafer capacity by end of 2012

Sustained strong demand has led solar wafer producer, PV Crystalox Solar to publically provide a longer-range insight into its capacity expansion plans through to the end of 2012. Previously, the wafer producer had noted that plans to expand to 630MW were only under review. However, PV Crystalox said in an interim management statement that it was ‘actively planning the next stages of capacity expansion which will enable us to reach 630MW at the end of 2011 and 800MW at end of 2012.’ Read more

Project Focus: Foster Wheeler to equip Madinat Zayed plant

Israel?s National Infrastructures Minister signs country?s first solar PPA

Israel's National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau has signed the first power purchase agreement (PPA) for renewable energy in the country's history, with Ketura Sun, the joint venture between Arava Solar Power Company (APC) and Kibbutz Ketura, which is developing a 4.9MW plant in the southern Arava near Eilat. The agreement, which will stretch over 20 years, is said to be worth NIS 250 million. Read more

Neo Solar signs seven-year poly silicon supply contract with Hankook

US Navy's Solar Power Push

US Should Stay Out of Cancun Says Climate Action Group

The U.S. should just stay out of the way of meaningful global carbon reduction agreements like those that will be discussed at the upcoming international climate negotiations in Canun, Mexico.
